Since this is my first ever blog, I really don't know what to do. Here's hoping it doesn't turn out totally lame! A little lame, that's ok with me, but a lot lame? Not so much.
I'll probably be using this blog almost like a journal, I don't expect anyone to read this really, my life while, totally hilarious to me, isn't what you would call super interesting. I'd like to think I'm funny. At least, my friends laugh at me a lot, which, now that I'm looking back on it, probably isn't the best thing ever. Oh well.
Sorry, ramble ramble ramble. Back to what I'm doing. I've never been good at keeping a journal. I managed to keep one for about a year when I was like 13 but since then the fact that I write a whole lot slower than I think just bugs me. Fortunately, I can type pretty quick!
Mostly what I want to record is the crazy stuff that happens in my life and how funny that all is to me. Hopefully I won't resort to ROFL or LOL but if there is an occasional haha please forgive me.
Alright, on to the crazy!!
I'm not going to post a long bio of me or anything, since I already know all about me, but suffice it to say that I got to BYU (go cougars!) and that I'm a Resident Assistant for Helaman Halls. Oh, and that my name is Lydia. If I get to something that requires a little back story I will of course explain, but mostly I'm just going to tell you about the craziness I see.
So not a whole bunch has happened to me today since I haven't had class yet, but last night was pretty great. So I get home from my last class of the day. Two and a half hours of ancient civilizations and art stuff that makes no sense in my head (I'm a business major so I think more logically and left-brained) after having been in other classes all day, dash off to Budge Hall to hang out with some people, and end up trying to write an essay in my head while at the same time trying to understand what's going on in the Bourne Ultimatum. This is tough for me because it's the third Bourne movie and I've only ever seen the first one like five years ago and I haven't seen the second one. So yay for not understanding plot lines!!
After that's over, do I get to go home? Heck no!! I get to go to my friend Devin's house, he got to open his mission call!! Santa Maria, Brazil, we're all super excited for him! His place was super crowded and sweltering hot though, so after a few minutes, me and my friends gave him a final hug, and dashed off to my friend's apartment in Liberty Square. On the way we found a shopping cart next to a dumpster. Of course, we took it and my friend Megan rode in it all the way there. After we got there, we watched Hercules (yes we sang along, why wouldn't we?) and chatted for a while about crazy stuff. There was a lot of poking fun at me for my boyfriend Brandon. (yes, we'll come back to that at some point) I'm apparently too naive to function correctly.
Still a bit too much rambling? Sorry, sorry.
Cut to when I get home at almost midnight! I've been out since noon today so i drop my backpack, fall on my bed, and plug my phone into the charger. After about five minutes I get a phone call from my favorite <3 person <3 in <3 the <3 whole <3 world!
Yes, it's Brandon <3
We've only been together for about a week and a half, but it's been honestly the best time ever. I seriously cannot remember a time where I was happier. Whenever I think of my future, he's in it, that's all I can say. Another thing I want to do with this blog is to get better at expressing what's really in my heart. Sometimes I can stumble through a few sentences that express a tiny bit of what I feel, but not often. So fair warning, I will be trying to wax eloquent pretty often, especially when it comes to Brandon, or the gospel.
Well, since I've started typing this up I've written most of an essay, gone to class, and eaten dinner, so a couple of fun crazy things have happened.
Me and one of my best friends ever, Katherine, at dinner tonight in the Cannon Center, and this guy was at our table that we didn't know. We talked to this kid for like half an hour at least and just as he got up to leave he realized he didn't know our names. Me being my honest self said "oh hey, yeah, I'm Lydia" because honesty is the best policy right? Well for no reason at all Kat tells him her name is Sophie! I give her this look, like really? really? wow hahaha (See?! Told you it would be there, I hope you forgive me) and then she tries to give him a handshake, but instead it turns into this crazy fist bump that changes into them rubbing the backs of their hands together. Oh goodness just thinking about it now makes me laugh out loud, I hope the people outside my room don't mind.
I don't exactly know how to end this horrible rambling monstrosity so I'll just say that I'm sorry for the craziness, but it keeps me sane.
Catch you on the flip side!
